c'est un groupe vraiment génial, ils sont plus qu'adorables, un réel plaisir de les voir sur scène. pour en savoir un peu + :Little Man Tate are a four-piece indie band from Sheffield, England. Their witty and sexual lyrics have led to an increasingly growing fan base, mainly through internet forums and message boards, such as those relating to other Sheffield-based bands such as Arctic Monkeys. Many have been predicting Little Man Tate will have a similar rise to fame as their Sheffield counterparts. Recently, the band began attracting interest from several record labels and in March 2006 signed to V2 Records. Their next single is called What? What You Got and is released on 22nd of May. The b-side will be a new recording of Young Offenders.
Their fanbase, the 'Master Taters', is made up largely by forumers. This forum spirit runs deep too, with the band adding the names of all members of the forum who registered in 2005, to the back of The Agent and limited edition 'Master Tater' t-shirts were made (by Jonny AKA Class Act 39). Their loyalty to their fans shows no end, with many of their fans featuring in the new video for 'What? What you got', including a Casanova role for infamous LMT superfan Q.
Their first single, The Agent, was released on 7" with Just Can't Take It as the b-side. It sold out on pre-order as they topped 1,800. An initial run of only 500 was commissioned, but nobody really seems to know how many were made in the end...
Both of the first two singles have been released under the band's DIY label, Yellow Van Records, a tribute to their old yellow van which was stolen along with all their gear at an early, now legendary, gig at Fibbers in York and is now symbolic to fans and band alike.
On the topic of gigs, in April 2006 the band recently played a hometown, sellout gig at the Plug in Sheffield, where 1,200 fans boogied, pogoed and surfed to their heroes until closing time. Following this, they have sell out gigs at London, Leeds and York to look forward to, ensuring an action packed May 2006.
Having already featured in such magazines as Rolling Stone, NME, Sandman, Q, Radio Coma amongst other leading magazines, the future is looking bright for this band
